One destination… three countries!

Foz do Iguaçu is a city located in the far west of a state called Paraná. It is known as ‘Babel Tower’ because of its cultural diversity. Its population, almost 260.000 habitants is composed of immigrants from more than 80 countries, mainly from Lebanon, China, Paraguay and Argentina. Is one of the most visited cities in Brazil, and is the third destination in Brazil chosen by the foreign visitors. In Foz do Iguaçu there is the Triple Frontier, between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Brazil and Paraguay are separated by the Parana River, and Brazil and Argentina, by the Iguaçu River. You can go to these 2 countries from Foz do Iguaçu.

The first inhabitants of this region were the indigenous people and, in 1542, Alvar Nuñez Cabeza de Vaca, a Spanish explorer, discovered the Iguaçu Falls (or Iguazu Falls). Iguaçu means ‘Great Waters’. It’s one of the largest waterfalls systems in the world, where the water of the Iguaçu River falls down to what is called the Devil’s Throat and having the opportunity to visit one of the most magnificent places of Brazil is a chance you can’t miss!!!Surrounded by the rain forest, it’s a place that makes any person in the world believe that there is a supreme being above us… The greatness and power of all that nature and the waterfalls channels an energy that can easily be felt.

You can imagine the multiplicity of this city, the cultural mix and development, the gastronomy is diverse… is a city where you can always find something interesting to do. I’ve been there to visit the waterfalls and the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant… we even went to Paraguay, but there weren’t enough time to visit other places.
